Patricia G. Sanchez

Bio: Patricia attended Cholla High School and graduated from Pima Partnership High School. After graduation, she worked for Pima Prevention Partnership's Youth and Family Services while attending Pima Community College West and Downtown Campus', to pursue a social services degree. She now works at Apollo Middle School in the Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) and serves as a youth mentor and parent/community advocate. Sun Tran has been her main source of transportation for over 10 years--it supported it throughout high school, and it has been her most reliable mode of transportation for work since she was 19 years old. She frequently rides routes 18, 50, 23, 12, 24, 25, and 27 to get to shopping centers, see family, and attend events. Patricia has been passionate about community since she attended Cholla High Magnet School. She served in the Americorps National Corporation for Community Service in a youth and family services prevention program, and knows the importance of public transportation, what it has been for her and so many other people who either cannot afford a personal vehicle or are unable to have one due to different reasons, helping people understand the bus system is something that happens naturally quite often. She likes to share her safe and positive experiences riding Sun Tran and Sun Link Public Transportation. Working for public schools, Patricia interacts with students and connects families to community resources, including helping students and their families understand how to navigate the bus routes so they can access the places they need, such as community organizations that provide resources and daily necessities, like food, clothing and medicine and other places that provide services for youth and families.
